Recruitment into public schools is by public advertisement. When a cycle opens, the notice appears on this site and in the news list, and applications are made online through the Ministry's jobs portal.
Typical requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or in a teaching subject, an NCE, or an HND with a professional teaching qualification
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, where applicable
- Evidence of age
- A Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria certificate is an added advantage
Requirements vary by cycle. Always read the advertisement for the cycle you are applying to.
Beware of fraud. The Ministry never charges an application fee and has no agents. Any person or website asking you to pay to apply is not acting for the Ministry.
